Welcome to the Port Townsend Arts Guild!

The Port Townsend Arts Guild is a self-supporting, non-profit arts organization founded on April 14, 1972 by a local group of artists and craftspeople interested in creating a way to earn a living from doing what they loved and to help others to do the same. In addition to having a small store in Port Townsend, the Guild began organizing arts & craft fairs a few times a year and juried other artists and craftspeople in to join them.

As rents increased in Port Townsend, the Guild focused solely on the arts & craft fairs as a source of operating funds and a means for artists to sell their work to the locals and tourists who visit. Currently, all of the Guild's operating funds are generated by the high quality art & craft fairs they are known for. They do not receive monies from any local, state, or federal sources.

In addition to helping artists sell locally, the Guild awards $3,500 to $4,000 in scholarships annually to Jefferson County high school students who choose to major in the arts in college. The Guild is also known for funding cultural activities and foundations, food banks, childrens' art projects, and arts emergency relief in Jefferson County.

Every year, the Guild presents four high quality, juried, arts and craft fairs featuring artists from around the Northwest and beyond. Visitors to these fairs can purchase pottery, glass beads, jewelry to suit all tastes and styles, toys, clothing, home furnishings, garden art, metal sculpture, photography, paintings, and much more from both old favorites as well as newcomer artists and craftspeople.
